Plans Now Lodged

Well, the plans are now lodged and as I have said they are not appropriate to the area and the buildings are not only down right ugly but will suffer drastically from wind noise as soon as half decent gale gets up.

It is dissappointing that such a great opportunity to do something worthwhile should be squandered so quickly and purely for profit.

It was originally stated to us that Donald Trump was investing £300 million of his own money ion something he wanted to do and that, this way he would retain control and make sure it was not just a cash producer. Well something appears to have changed, they are now quoting £1 billion pounds. So where is the extra cash coming from and why all the extra housing if not just to raise cash?

It looks like the lure of the money to be drawn from a theme park type develoment has outweighed the wish to preserve the ' magnificent desolation' described by Donald Trump after his first visit.

The concept of the development still appeals to me, the original concept that is, but this method of execution, is cheap, nasty and below the quality that we want for this country.

Those of you that wish to object to the plans had better hurry up. There was an extension to the time given but I do not know how long an extension it was.

The application number is APP/ 2006/4605 and you do not need to have received a neighbour notification to object. Anyone can object, but it has to be a 'valid objection' on realistic grounds. 'Spoiling the view' is not a valid objection, but 'degredation of visual amenity' is. So take care, word the objection carefully and go for it, but don't waste time. That is one thing we are short of.

If you have an opinion, make it known and don't complain afterwards if you stay silent now.
